He is stationed on [[High Charity]] and watches slowly as the city is consumed by [[Flood]]. There, he assumes responsibility for releasing the Flood as part of his own actions, and confesses on the falsehood of the Covenant religion. In the end of the story, he flings open the doors to his chamber and lets the parasite devour him, commenting "It is finished. I am finished".
