TSMC Buys NT$687 Million of Equipment From Applied Materials

Dec. 31 (Bloomberg) -- Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. bought NT$687 million of equipment from Applied Materials South East Asia Pacific Ltd., the Hsinchu-based chipmaker said in a statement to the stock exchange today.

TSMC in Talks to Buy Buildings, Land in Hsinchu From Powerchip

Dec. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. is in talks to buy land, buildings from Powerchip Technology Corp. in Hsinchu to expand, Elizabeth Sun, a spokeswoman for the world’s largest contract chip manufacturer, said by telephone today.
