If any of you guys know about the iPhone app series N.O.V.A., then you might get interested by the fact that both Halo and N.O.V.A. are quite similar.
Simularities
*The protagonist gets abducted by humans of a military-linked organization for a super-soldier-like program.
*The player is guided through most of the game by a female A.I.
*The antagonists are aliens seeking to eliminate the human race.
*The larger Xenos are a mix of Hunters/Brutes in terms of characteristics. They use very suicidal tactics (such as charging towards the player), shoots from an arm cannon, use lunging attacks if the player is close, and sometimes move in a slower pace.
*The marines of the human faction gets infected in some way and becomes hostile to the player.
*Both games feature an eight-legged creature/machine that fires some kind of powerful blast and are both defeated by the protagonist.
*You can only aim down the sight with the sniper rifle.
*The aliens use plasma weapons that can do a supercharge and requires the user to wait for the weapon to recharge for it to be reused in exchange for more firepower.
*Humanoid aliens and jetpack aliens
*Green humvee-like vehicle with a .30 cal minigun
*Sentenals
*At one point, the female A.I. sacrifices herself for the protagonist.
The healthbar appears on top of the screen and recharges quickly in exchange for smaller shield health.
*The super-soldiers wear some form of armor with shields and appear to be the only ones able to use the suit.
*Magnum pistol
*Sometime in the series, the player infiltrates an alien ship and encounters the three alien leaders
*Three wise alien leaders
