Russian Building Jump Into Snow

Jumping Off a Building Into Snow

Kids these days. They will try all sorts of crazy things. Jumping off a building was not on my list of things to do as a kid – even if there was a huge snow drift at the bottom.

Projectile motion again. Here is the vertical motion.

Crazyjump

Even though the scale isn’t quite known and the camera moves, this looks like a constant acceleration fall. But is it possible to survive? If the jumpers start 13 meters above the ground and stop in a 1.5 meter snow drift, that would an acceleration of about 7.6 g’s. Not a good idea, but probably survivable.

The Verdict: Probably real. Here is the original post.
